BRUSHES WITH WAR
PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS OF WORLD WAR I BY THE TROOPSA world class private collection of 325 original works of art by soldiers and sailors of World War I portrays every aspect of the war through the eyes of the troops who served and fought. Emphasis is on the Western Front. The collection includes American, Australian, Austrian, Belgian, British, Canadian, French, German, Italian, and Russian works of art depicting trench, artillery, tank, sea, air and night warfare, POW camps, casualties, hospitals, and much more. The exhibit is seasoned with World War I relics and flags that give further points of contact with the war and highlight the subject matter of the artwork. A unique and colorful look at the grim realities of war.
